Hex symbols

Been a long time since I lived in PA,( about 60 years) but I remember the hex symbols on a lot of the barns up there. Does anyone have a picture , and relate the story behind them?

John, I remember seeing the symbols you refer to but it's been a long time so can't recall any of the folklore associated with them. You did make me think of the "Mail Pouch" ads, and the barn
roofs that had large arrows, airport names, and distances worked into the shingles for early airplane navigation. Thanks and good luck.

Thank goodness, it has something to do with barns..... I read the title and thought it was a typo error....scrolled down to see them and boy was I disappointed!
LOL....Sam

Not around here, but an old brick house nearby has a swastika bricked into the chimney. I am sure it predates the Nazi regime.
Always wondered how that went over back during WW2?
Pretty sure it has symbolism for good luck, or something, dating back for centuries.

Interesting that you noticed that. Yes, the 'Swastika' symbol predates the Nazi regime...by about 3000 years!....I read recently about the same symbol on the cathedral in St. Cloud, MN, head of the local Catholic diocese. I think it was removed a few decades ago, after WWII. Controversial....It goes back to Sanscrit. Means 'to be good'. FYI- google 'swastika'.
