I had another minor stroke last Sat morning. Lost some perliferal vision in my left eye, but that's about it. My relief valve on my oil pump stuck, HeHe. Been adjusting the meds and diet this week. Had to stop drinking a pot of coffee, while posting here, and get back to doing something constructive.
The weather has been "Wintery" for the last 10 days. Temps have barely made the freezing mark, and snow fluries every day. It's only 29F here now, but it looks like the latest round of snow is subsiding, 6" overnight. The weather watchers are predicting temps in mid to high 40s for the weekend. We'll see.
I hopped in the old cheby woodgetter this morning and went up to the sugarbush. every thing is froze up. If the weatherman is correct we will be busy Sunday.

Sorry to hear that you had a minor stroke .
Just take it easy & try to stay away from all the coffee , . Also tell your maple sap runners that your going to be the C .E . O. of the Company & you will put the labels on the bottles & make all the decisions .

John,
I'll have to be the assistant "sticker licker" My uncle is 79 and the CEO when he is there. My Dad was the family matriarc, but he Passed last spring shortly after this pic was taken. He had made maple syrup in this saphouse as a kid with his dad. In the pic L-R is me, Dad, my uncle, one of my cousins son, and his son, and the pic was taken by his other son. We also have another 1st. cousin, and his two sons who are a part of this also. In total there are 8 family members at present, spanning 3 generations.

I love that last pic Loren, the one of your dad in his mud boots with the walker. A man a stubborn as myself, I'm going to show that to my wife when she gets home this evening so she'll know what she's in for in 60 years.

Loren, you take care, the relief valve sticking is no joke!
You need to stay around to see that wood all burned! All the best...

I am so sorry to hear you havent been feeling well,Please be careful and do what they tell you and get well soon.I enjoyed all yor pictures and your history the Case models.I hope some day to take a ride with my wife and see your countryside,If we stop by I wont wear shorts!

Take care of yourself. Maybe a minor stroke to the Dr. but it's a major warning to you to change the things that contributed to the stroke. As in the coffee, the diet and the meds. Wish you the best.
Always enjoy the pic's, makes me remember how beautiful NYS is BUT not enough to make me move back there.

Hope it wasn't the CaseIH , Tenneco discussion last week that got your blood pressure up. Good luck.

Pete,
No, My DIN comes from an all green family, but we have all been good friends for many many years, We all got to know each other at the local county fair, and when the days competition was over, we all got together at the Cow Palace, or the Entretainment/beer tent for the evening. We even socialized with the IH guys. HeHe. Those Oliver guys wern't much for partyers though. (wink)

Seriously Loren, take it easy and follow your Doctor's advice. I know exactly what your going through, I've had several mini-strokes, my last about 12 years ago. I never had high blood pressure, mine were from arterial plaque. There MAY be some lasting side effects, each case is different; with me it's short-term memory loss and a very occasional slight drool that's usually not noticeable by anyone else. Take care neighbor and get better soon.

Great to see a Family tradition still being carried on.
Sorry that I couldn t get you promoted but looks like you have a handle on it.

AD NO such thing as minor stroke .. Your body is trying to tell you something. Mind the doctor and be careful . Now to the question how do you market your finished product. The reason I ask is I fixed (on phone) a dozer for a guy on here from NY. He sent me some New York maple syrup , it was in a little brown plastic jug with no real name just NY Syrup. I am figuring there is a CO/Op or some thing where maybe a lot of folks sell their product. Can,t get it here and that was some kind of good.
