| What if she would have "forgotten" to give the license back? The girl asks for it and she says she doesn't have it, just her own license. |

| Heard on the news today that in a town near me a guy went into the courthouse to obtain a birth certificate or some such. Before passing through the weapons screener he was asked to empty his pockets into a tray. He obliged and placed a baggie of weed, several rocks of crack and a bottle of oxies, along with pipes and other paraphernalia, on the tray. I don't think he got his birth certificate. |

| | In 1967 I spent the summer in Chicago on business. While I was there, a story made the headlines in the Tribune. Remember now, this was before the days of insisting on picture IDs and all of the emphasis on identity theft. Some guy went into one of the big banks down on the Loop, and tried to cash a check. He had a check, showed his driver's license, and gave his address. Coincidentally, the teller lived next door to the person that the crook was impersonating, and he wasn't the teller's neighbor. Teller called the cops and they arrested the guy. Supposedly, the crook just sat down in police custody and shook his head. How could it be that the one teller in a Chicago bank would be the neighbor of the fraud victim. Tom in TN |

| On the news here in Missouri today....A mother asked her daughter to text Mom's customers for a drug deal. Daughter did as asked, but appararntly texted one wrong number-a cop. Mom was busted on a laundry list of drug charges as well as child endangerment and contributing to the delinquency. (I gotta wonder if maybe the daughter knew what she was doing?) |
