Speaking of Flexible Flyers

I have more than a dozen sleighs, many of them Flexible Flyers, but these are my favorites.
The two larger ones I bought at a garage sale more than 20 years ago for $25 each.
The "regular" sized one I bought at a garage sale in CT last fall for $20.
The big ones are 8" tall as opposed to the normal 6-1/2" height.
I have seen very, very few Flexible Flyers in the large size in my 71 years.

Boy that takes me back we had flexible flyers as kids they were the fastest sleds on the hill
nothing could beat them!

The new plastic ones are fast too, especially in the deeper snow where the runners might dig in the the flyers. Another bonus... when some runs in to you with a plastic sled its a whole lot easier on the ankles.

When I was a kid, those were THE sled to have. I had an "AMERICAN" (still have it.), and it was good, but wider track and didn"t steer as well. Once we got the snow packed down after numerous trips down the hill, mine was as fast as any. Probably ought to dig it out, and repair it a bit, and teach the grandkids what sledding is all about. Right now they are glomming on to the cargo sled I use to take feed bowls out to the outside critters.

This topic came along at an opportune time. I picked up this Flexible Flyer in January in a Phoenix antique store of all places. Wondered how it ended up there? It looks brand new with all the decals on top and stickers underneath. My driveway is about 1000 ft long with a nice slope. I do believe you could kill yourself on that thing if you don't drag your toes as a brake and it's a good thing you can steer them!!
Sorry for the double pic post, couldn't figure out how to delete one.

Here is some pictures of my sled. Are they worth anything these days? I think mine is a 4' sled. I would like to sell it if anyone is interested in it.

I had one when I was young, our driveway was a long gentle hill, spent a lot of time on it. I don't know what happened to it, so when I saw one at a garage sale for $5 last year I snatched it up!
