Grandpa's old Farm history

Very interesting. Thank you Gitrib.

Makes me wish I had known my grandparents better.
Three of them died by the time I was nine years old. It would have been interesting to converse with them once I became an adult.

Sure would have Sweet feet. I only ever knew my Mom's Dad, He lived with us and died the day before his 90th birthday. He was born in 1867, right after the Cival War and about 4 years before the Chicago fire.
I didn't appreciate his stories until He was gone and I was much older! he only had one leg, and when the first jet were flying, would crane his neck to watch them, then shake his head. He lived before there were any cars!

I wish i knew more about my grandparents. My Grandpa was in the civil war but passed way before i was born. I have only had 1 grandmother, no grandfathers. All my cousins except one passed from old age a long time ago. This article was very interesting, thanks for sharing

i was in my early 20s when i lost my first grandparent and 43 when i lost my last one. i feel my life is much richer for having known then i was truly blessed their ages were 74, 76, 93, 94

Larry,

That must have been pretty cool!

My one grandma did live until I was 18... but the last 5-6 years she was very ill. And I only had one to one conversation a couple times with her when I went to clean her house after a cancer surgery.Otherwise the whole family/extended family was always around.

Always made sure I have spent at least some one to one time with each of our kids. Planning to do the same with grandkids as they come along. Conversation is better that way, than in large packs of people.
