A little more input on the Bon Ami cylinder de-glazing subject. This from a 1955 Case service bulletin.

Roy,
The first time we did this was on a early 630 that we had on the farm. In it's first year of life it was run everyday of the winter on the manure spreader. by spring it started hard, and the exaust burned your eyes. Larry Kalk, our Service rep. came down to adress this issue and some others on the very early production 630 COM. We had to pull the head and put in thicker fire rings in the new head gasket, drill a hole in the 5/8 capscrew behind the water pump for a bypass, and then did the Bon-ami trick to it. It was a different tractor after that. We pulled a BR4x14 plow behind it. It also was tired up with BFG 14.9x36s and weighted front and rear. A couple years later it was relieved from plowing duty, and replaced with an EH 831C with a JT 46 plow.
Loren, the Acg.
