After the doldrums of winter and the recent spring weather, Ithought some of you might be interested in how we do silage here in the British Isles. We mostly make grass silage, just because we can grow it!....enjoy.

Interesting. How fast do those Massey's travel in road speed. Seems like they are leaving the field PDQ.

Hi Sam, what time of year do you normally do the first cut of silage?

In May of 2009, in southern Wales, we clocked this JD and silage cart at 30 MPH but he was empty. Loaded silage carts were going in the other direction.

How many tons would be in one of these carts?

Most modern tractors in Europe do 40kph, some do 50kph. the silage trailers are usually 14-16 tonnes.
