Bought a bucket at the sale Tuesday.It's a unwritten rule that you buy a cheap bucket or box of stuff at every sale.In this collection there was this wrench and hammer.I goggled the wrench and found out what it is.The name is Hinsdale.The patent was issued in 1926.On the one I have says patent pending.

The hammers got me and a few others puzzled.Everbody that's looked at it including myself has never seen one like it.Sledge face with a ball.There used to be Black Smiths shops around years ago but I don't remember any body having hammers made like this.

Not sure why some were made that way unless for tapping round holes for gaskets or special metal work They were common around here then the type with a V on one side and heavy hammer on the other.
