Case923

I just bought a 1937 Case C, at least that's what the former owner thought it was. There is no tag on the toolbox but I found a number on the block. It is CC 310420. Can anyone give me any information?

First and Fourth digit minus 3 = year.
3 & 4 = 34 -3 = 1931 model.
No tag means the tractor could have been stolen, or someone doesn't want anyone to know the block has been replaced (numbers should match), or could mean nothing more than simply the tag is missing for no apparant reason.

It is a 80 year old tractor, I wouldn't read into the tag being missing too much. The tags aren't the most durable things, especially when exposed to manure, fertilizer, chemicals, vibration and God only knows what else. I have a 40 year old Case here that was bought new in the family which is missing its tag.

Tag was on the toolbox which is probably missing or has been replaced. You can get replacement tags for Case tractors and it is perfectly fine, because the number you found on the block is the serial number.
