JD 410 HOE----WHAT CAN I GET

Have a 1977 JD 410 Backhoe. I am the second owner. It was on a golf course and had tiny little dipper for putting in lines. I have had it about 25 years and just used it for my own fun--putting in a few septic systems on my rental lots. Always stored inside.
I want to get a JD 4X4 HOE. It has 4190 hours and I am in Mich.
Would 8500.00 be near a going price. Not trying to sell on this forum---just looking for a fair price for seller and buyer. What do you experts think??????

Thank you len

Good auction in this part of the country would be $6500.00 at the best. You MIGHT get your price retail if you hold it long enough. Several things working against you , first 2 wheel drive, every one is like you they want 4 wheel, and then it is 35 years old, now that being said there are a lot of farmers wanting a cheap hoe BUT they also have a lot to pick from. Sorry I can,t be of more help, Craig,s list and put up with the whiners I guess.

Is that the actual hours and what is the overall shape of it? If it's in good shape you should get $8500 for it. It's a JD so although expensive, parts should be available. If it only used a small bucket, the hoe should be in really good shape. Is it still tight or does everything flop around?

Thanks for the thoughts fellas---I installed a larger dipper after I bought the Hoe. It is a very low hour machine for the age and I never used either on it. Never started in the winter.
I sure wish I could put 4x4 on it ,but I know it isn't possible.

Around mid-Michigan I am thinking more around 7K, maybe 7500 tops. I looked for two years from Detroit to Grand Rapids to Mackinaw and the 1970s hoes of any make were not commanding too much $$. JD did seem to hold the value best.

Hard to find good ones. I'd sure think if it was a good low hour one it should bring what you said.

Sounds like you don't use it much ? 4x4 models really bring alot more. Are you sure it's worth it ? known problems verses unknown problems and all ?

I have not ran a 4x4 hoe but have ran several types of 2 wd ones. They all seem too light on the front as they are. Will the frt. wheels really do that much pulling ? Maybe if you had a large object lifted up with the loader and tried to move around is where it helps ?
Swapping out the industrial lugs for ag bar tires should help them wallow around in the mud better.

i HEAR YOU Mike---I know what I have and at 68 maybe too big of a risk. Son-in-law says --why are your selling. I said you want to end up with a 2 wheel or 4x4----he says oh I see--gotta love em. Thanks for the thoughts.
