What are some things you notice before a severe storm, a day or two before it hits?

Some of the things I've noticed are;
1. Tractor Tires With Fluid in them Sweat
2. Concrete Sweats in the Garage
3. My Voice Echoes Between the Buildings
4. Rocks under car tires can be heard a mile away
5. Garage Door Opener Works Farther Away

When we wake up to one of those spectacular mornings when the fog has froze to all the trees, we will get freezing rain within 24hrs.

In winter, birds will feed heavy before a storm, and in summer I have seen springs that had gone dry start to trickle a few hours before a storm.

Here on the Gulf coast the cows are climbing trees getting ready for high water! No seriosly the fire ants build a mound of fresh earth around thier nest.

I can hear the fire chief at the Selectmen's meeting asking for an increase in his budget. And the town office is two miles away.

cows get hungry-fill up on feed then dont eat during the storm. Dog wants to sleep inside. Smoke from the electricity generator across the river goes sideways. Its always a nice day when you can hear the trains from 5 miles away.

Back in the cattle feeding days, if we could smell the cattle yard in the house a storm was on the way. The air pressure was super low so the smell hung to the ground and the wind was in the south east. Jim

Before the storm,she will say several times,"didn't I ask you not to do that" several times,and I won't listen...................

Shadetree, did you know that is due to the low barometric pressure? I have an uncle who used to run a frame and front end shop. The front end alignment machine sat at floor level, and the was a pit you worked in. The pit had a crack in the poured concrete wall, and just before a storm, water would seep in through the crack. When the storm passed, and the pressure rose, the seepage stopped. He could tell within an hour when it was going to rain, and when it was going to stop.

Get a migraine headache. Has to do with the change in barometric pressure I'm told.
