need help ,,, trailer light

my friend just called me he is working on his trailer,he wants to know how to remove the taillight,The way he explained it it is round and has a rubber case,he wants to know how to remove it he is not sure and does not want to break it.

If it's the kind with the rubber grommet in a hole in the frame just pry it out. They don't break to easy but it can happen.

Stick a flat blade screw diver in between the light and the rubber and gently pry out. If the rubber is cold warm it lightly it will make things MUCH easier. If you don't you WILL break the light. They are commonly called a GROTE style/grommet style. Trucker.

..when you pry the light out (as another poster suggested, with a flat screwdrive),you can replace it,I use brake lube on the rubber grommet,it won't hurt it and it makes it easier to reinstall the light..they can be tough,I place the new light sideways into the grommet and then place the grommet in the hole, then start working it into the grommet and into the hole simultaneously..there's a feeling of accomplishment once they pop into the grommet and hole and all is well..good luck,it'll work!
