Got me a pickup

Well after I cooled off and re arranged some meetings from this morning I got my new pickup home. They did fill it up full of diesel and urea so I can't complain. I'm sure I paid for it anyway. I think I'm going to like the back up camera for hooking trailers and all the comfort features. Now if I figure out the touchscreen. Here is a dealer photo of it and my 08 I traded. I'll take a pic of it after I get my bull gaurd on windows tinted. I did get the toolbox in it today.

If you want, Icould come down and make you a beer cn cover for the muffler in the background instead of a valuable 1 gallon jug being wasted. :) Nice truck by the way. What brand of tires?

I've been just barely looking at something with a 4 wheel drive. I've got a 97 2 wheel with a 4.6 and 170k on it. Always been a Ford man but been kinda leery of the 5.4 engine. Been hearing good things about the ecoboost now. What did you get for an engine? Both nice trucks, by the way!

I got that ol super h inside this winter and rebuilt the engine in her. Now she sets inside in the back of the building. I figure after 60 years of being outside she deserves it. The tires are mudstar brand. Pretty loud going down the highway and they don't last but 30,000-35,000 miles but I really hate being stuck in the mud or snow. They do pretty good.

Like hayman said, exhaust fluid. I'm telling you we used to tell people they needed exhaust fluid to "fix" their car years ago. Who'd a though we would have this stuff now.

They look like they would do the job, anywhere. If they sing you a song going down the highway, then they are usually some good tires.

Clicked on it hoping it was a dodge, but its not, im not a ford
guy, rather have a tundra but i hope you have good luck with
it,

That old 7.3 was a pretty good horse. Kinda noisy was pretty dependable fron what I hear. Hard to beat a diesel for pulling trailers with them purty old tractors on them.

(quoted from post at 20:46:14 02/25/13) Oh its a Dorf!!! LOL I thought you might have gotten a real truck with a Cummins in it.
It's a good thing dodge has cumming to brag up or they'd have nothing. Nothing but our taxpaying dollars to support their habbit! LOL

Lairiet model Jay. It's got all the goodies that I wanted for a bit less then the king ranch or the platnum,

I agree with you on the 5.4 lately. If you're a ford guy do you remember when the 7.3 first came out the blocks would crack behind the oil cooler on the early models. If I remember right the fix was to drill the crack out and push dowl pins in there to stop the leak. The early 5.4 had trouble but they figured them out and the 4 I've had ran like champs. Still have 2 of those on the road today.

A friend of mine had an 04 and it rattled in the valve train....always was noisy. They told him that was common and that would cost a few hundred a side to fix it. Don't actually know what that was all about.

Huskers86, If you didn't have a touch screen in your old truck then the Learning Curve WILL be tuff!
Learning the computer in my 2011 Edge has been a challenge to say the least. Mine is the older version and Voice Recognition still isn't great Best I can tell a lot of my problems still has to deal with the Interface with my T-Mobile phone and the computer
The newer system has improved greatly in the last 1 yr over the older My-Touch system
As far as the car goes I have no complaints at all!
I am not complaining , There is just a semi load of things going on internally, all the time and my 2 cog brain just doesn't get it sometimes.

Once you are registered you will be able to do software upgrades through SyncMyRide.com
The problem with doing the upgrade is that it takes about an hour to download and transfer to the vehicle and the vehicle has to be running all the time that the download is in progress. There are times when you think nothing is being downloaded but don't touch anything or the download will be ruined. Once you get the hang of the menu you will like it. BTW the current download is about 1.3 gigabyte and if you don't want to do it the dealer will do it for you and the vehicle must be left for about 4 hours.

It is OK but not great, the voice recognition gets it wrong about 1/4 of the time. It actually works better to talk faster. I have talked to people with other brands and it is par for the course.

I put the Banks intake kit on mine, and have the Banks exhaust to put on when I am able.

I would not recommend putting larger diameter tires on it. Mine gets best mileage at 70 and actually drops off a little at 55. My tires are not the best in the snow, will put a little more aggressive tread on when I replace.

(quoted from post at 07:31:33 02/26/13) Did yours come with HID lights?

I got a kit for mine and it throws out a lot more.
I just have standard lights. My 2011 camaro has the hid's and I love them. I was thinking about putting them in, you may have helped me make up my mind. :D

Well I got the toolbox in and the tint on. Now I'm waiting for the bull gaurd and gooseneck to come in and the 2way man to install the raidio. I'll get all done yet!

I did haul a load of pivot tires today which isn't a big load but it pulled great. I think I'll like the 6.7 good.
