A couple of our tractor friends came over from England for the weekend so we took them to see our Folk Museum. This is a living museum on a 90 acre estate, where old houses from all over Northern Ireland have been taken down stone by stone and rebuilt and furnished exactly as they would have been around 1910. I got some pics of the first farmhouse before my batteries went dead!. I can remember old houses like this, but my friend who is 20 years younger than me can not. We got a big Govt grant in the late 70s to knock down our old houses and rebuild new bungalows. We called it bungalow blight! A lot of history was lost and thanks to this museum we can still see how it was.
The last 2 pics are of the country school.
