Dealer Rant

Traded pickups friday and I run aftermarket rims and tires. Well I need the sensors off my '08 moved from the aftermarket rims to the stock '08 rims and the sensors from the '13 stock rims to the aftermarket ones. I then put the stock ones into storage untill I trade again is the plan. I know it's confusing but I've been waiting for 4 hours so far. I've changed tires and sensors helping a buddy of mine at his tire shop and know it shouldn't take that long. I have had poor service from this outfit before on my '08 and should have known it'd be like pulling teeth to get anything done timely. I finally made them take me home ( 7 miles away ) and pick me up when it's done to get back for the walk through on the new one. GGGRRRRR!! Just venting, I know...I'm kind of a whiner!

No kidding!...

All this Thanks to our USA gov. mostly the big O who thinks he can save the planet by you keeping your tires inflated !

Bad service before, bad service now, and you still traded with them? Id' tell em to take a hike and would buy somewhere else. Just went through that with a local dealer. He asked why I bought somewhere else, so I told him. He's working hard to get my business back.

I like my salesman and they had what I wanted and treated me right on the trade but anytime anything goes in the shop...well.

Monday mornings are the worst time to visit most service departments. There is usually a two day backlog of breakdowns, sales deliveries, and people stopping in for something quick before they leave town on business. 80 percent are "emergencies" or "need it done immediately" type jobs. The quickest easiest jobs get done first to get as many customers back on their way as quickly as possible. The complicated or hard to understand jobs are must wait. I've learned to avoid service departments on Mondays if I possibly can. Your salesman promised Monday morning to tell you what you wanted to hear.

Tuesday mornings are completely different, the ciaos is sored out, everything is more relaxed, the service manager has time to listen to special requests, and the shop isn't as busy. Often my vehicle is driven into a shop bay in less than ten minutes.

I think it was determined recently that most of us like the tire pressure monitors! And taking a truck in on Monday morning for something like this was a bad idea!

Most dealers have a courtesy van or will give a shop customer a loaner car if you ask for one.

Actually tire monitors were pushed through after a bunch of Firestone tires blew out because Ford wanted them run at something like 3/4 to 13/16 of Firestone"s minimum pressure for that size and model tire back in the 90s.
