I thought I saw green at the local salvage yard today

On the way to town today I thought I saw a tractor setting there , So on the way home I stopped and this is what I found.
I talked to the yard boss and sure enough the JD and peanut combine had been turned in for scrap Did find out someone came along and bought it from them before they had to crush it.

Sorry about the quality but all I had was my cell phone

Peanuts are dug and flipped upside down with a digger then let dry and this comes along picking them up and separates the nuts from the vine somewhat like wheat combine without a cutter head. Usually the digger rolls two rows together when the dig and these combines pick up either on or two of those. I will look through my pictures and post a couple a little later

not that I know what I need another tractor for but I was going to try
Larry So far they have not had a problem with someone buying from them

A ago I posted some pics of a 3020 we got from salvage yard. PO called and had them pick it up they charged him $100 to haul it in. They got it running and fixed a hyd. leak. We traded for a bunch of stuff out of the building we were taking down. Two months ago we got an 8N we took on trade for some other stuff. Drove it home too.

i just have to wonder about the smarts of somebody who would scrap a tractor that good, i mean unless it has a hole in the block you can put your fist thru, or the tranny or rear is junk its worth a lot more than scrap,it could be sold, just dont make sense

Why would somebody scrap those equipment mentioned
here like the 3010/3020 in the picture, a 3020 or the Ford?
When they would bring more at an equipment auction?
How much running equipment is stolen and just taken to the
scrapper for a quick buck?
