Do some research, maybe you can fix it, my brother has some kind of plasma tv, puked last summer, he did a bunch of ytube, and google searches and found a $20 capacitor went bad, took tv to some guy and they soldered in a new one , I think it was $25 bucks total repair. Good luck.

Have had 3 LED (~42"? screen) Samsungs for a collective time over 4 years. No problems, no adjustment to compensate for aging. IMO well worth the price.

I have had Vizio for almost 5 years and it is a great picture. Lightning hit a tree outside our house near the Direct TV dish and the TV took a dump about 8 mos into first year. Vizio replaced the set no problem. I recommend you get an LED and Vizio is a top rated set just under Samsung which is the top rated.

Do a search her on VIZEO. about 2 years ago there
was a discussion here about them..there were some
comments that Sams club wasn"t honering warrentys
because they were so trouble prone.

We have three Sanyos. One in the kitchen, one in the family room, and one in my office. They've all been good.

I've also had good luck with Samsung.

Sony maybe overpriced (I do not think so) but you will not beat the picture. Take a good look and you will be impressed. Have two one 4 years old and they are perfect.

Samsung 1080P LED is as good as it gets. Samsung is the leader in high definition tvs by far. LG is nice also. Sony is overpriced. Vizio tvs don't look bad, but not sure how they will hold up in the long haul. After all, they are rather cheaply made.

The main thing is make sure you get one that has a minimum of 120mhz processor. If you get anything lower, it will pixilate during a sports game.

If you really want a nice tv with all the latest bells and whistles, buy a Samsung 55" Class 3D 1080p 240Hz LED Smart HDTV.

Vizio worked for me. Current is IC and it has been perfect for about 5 years. Might check out digital vs plasma. I have the digital (LED) as I didn't like what I read about plasma. Never had one, just what I read.

Sound on most sucks so you might plan on a sound system for your audio. Seems most only have one aux audio jack (3.5mm female) which limits your usage and you have to determine if inserting a plug into the jack kills the audio from the TV.....like if you used the jack for earphones when you want to watch TV late at night and not disturb someone. That's really no big deal as you haven't missed anything....TV sound.

I am hard of hearing and feed my single output to a Bose sound system where I can independently control the speaker sound without affecting the output of the Bose jack which I feed to my earphones. That way I can have my sound as loud as I like and the others in the room can too.

HTH,
Mark

Early on there was a big difference due to the "slow" glass used.. now since everyone is using 3rd generation glass screens or newer, the old problems of smearing a gone. So, for most folks any of the models will work well. I know that sharp and lg are leaders now and sony and toshiba are barely paying the bills. Visio, emerson, rca and other junk brands are do really well on the "every day" low end models.

If you are going to call Vizio junk at least learn how to spell it. By the way Vizio is not junk.
