Impending storm- Kansas, etc.

Storm went through here this morning; gave us 1/4" of rain; some areas got 1/2". 5-6 inches of snow in the mountains where it does the most good for us by filling the reservoirs.

It's moisture; take whatever you can get.

We have a Blizzard warning in effect for parts of SE AZ.2nd time in MANY years. My home town of Bisbee at 5300 feet in the Mule Mts. expects to get up to 16" of snow. I live 50 miles away and we are supposed to get 4 to 6 inches. It is snowing heavily right now.

Yes, anything to put some moisture in the ground and see some run off. Most ponds are dry, larger ones are terribly low. Most lakes are very low due to municipal water use. I'm headed out now to feed and bed down the cows, sure hope those calfies wait till next week to start popping out.

Missouri has winter weather warnings for tonight. Rain, freezing rain and snow all one right after the other. Only problem I have with it doing that is the son works from 5pm to 3:30 am so he gets the drive home in the dark in the mess. NOAA says it will hit this area around 3am so he gets the drive home when it is going to be the worst

We've gotten a little over an inch so far in central KS with more on the way (up to 12 inches they say). The nearby lake is probably at least 12 foot low. All the boat ramps are closed because the water is so low. Ponds are dry. So, at this point, water is water and we will take what we can get!

Erik is right. I just came home from Lawrence today and Clinton Lake is about nothing but a mud puddle in places. I stopped and took some pictures because I haven't seen that before. I'll see about posting them if anyone wants to see them but they are pretty depressing to look at and my picture taking is even more depressing.

Well you can always hope that the weather is bad enough that the next shift can't make it in and he can work an extra shift. Have him pack an extra lunch! Armand

Shoot he already does 10 hour shifts 5 days a week so he gets 50 hours per week so he has pretty much no time for any thing but work so that would not be a good thing

Yeah we'll take it. Our pastures are hurtin for sure. Plus it will blanket the wheat and really help it as well. Hopefully it's the start of a wetter spring than last year. I can't remember wanting snow to hit as bad as this one. Certainly rather it was rain, but thankful for anything. Bob

If Marilyn's hip and my dad's leg and my knees are any kind of an indicator we're in for a biggie. Any kind of precip here is good. Well, maybe 3" of ice wouldn't be good, but you get the idea. Jim

I've heard 12 inches and 14 inches for here. It is all a guess but I will take anything I can get. I chained up the tractor for plowing last night so I don't have to worry about that one. It is awful light in the back even to deal with a foot. I am planning on being stuck on the farm for a few days - I just plugged in the generator to warm up. We are all ready.

We will probably have sunny and 40 degrees tomorrow. I wouldn't be surprised.
