OK i have bin working on a 1939 John Deere B S#71457

it is all most ready to start but the crab is not holding to gather it slips after too turns of the brass nut that holds the float and not sheer how to fix it

You could try a new brass nut,but if the threads are worn too much you may need the end replaced by a carb shop. Robert's carb in Iowa does that and has parts also. Ron Mn.
