Goose, Are your new windows argon filled?; were the old ones also argon filled? If the old ones were fogging up they must have lost the gas. In any event, I think the biggest thing you are going to see is a reduction in fuel consumption. When I had my house built 16 years ago, I had Anderson Argon filled windows installed throughout including the French doors to the deck. It is amazing how relatively warm the inside pane is no matter how cold it is outside. I think there are now even triple pane windows available. |

| I replaced a 40 year old Andersen that had fogged up, but it was forty years old. I've had a 5'hX6'w triple pane Andersen with a 5'hX4'w center section and a crank out on each side for maybe 20-25 years now and so far there's no trouble with the panes or the frame. The crank out system works hard partly because of the extra weight of the triple pane and partly because of poor design. As I understand Andersen quit the triple pane not long after I put this window in. Jim |
