(quoted from post at 21:22:39 02/13/13) Cash is king. If the buyer can go to the bank and get a cashiers check, he can just as easily get the cash. I don"t trust any type of check anymore- just too easy to fake.
Postal Money orders are the safest type of M.O., but even they can be faked. Also, there's an upper limit on Postal M.O.'s. I think it's $700.(quoted from post at 04:07:21 02/14/13) I have a tractor for sale and wonder what I should accept for payment from a stranger,. Personal check? Cashiers check? Money order? How long should I hold the tractor until payment clears? The sale amount will hopefully be around 13-14 thousand for informational purposes.
If you'd ever sold anything you might not consider those forms of payment "silly crap".(quoted from post at 06:40:17 02/14/13) Unfortunately I have never sold nothing in my life, I guess I am married to it all. The other side of the coin is this, I am not taking cash or cashiers check or none of this silly crap to buy anything! I write the man a check and he calls me when it clears and I go get it. That simple. If he can not deal with that I don't need what he has got.
