For the scant sum of $3800 you can own a "Fully Restored" 9N!!! AND...it"s "collection ready!!!" painted wrong, has an alternator and electronic ignition, long bar/short bar rears and implement fronts, and the only mention of any engine work is that the valves were done, so if the rings weren"t she"ll be smokin" soon!
So let"s see say ya get it for $3500, then spend $150 to get a generator, another $100 to get it rebuilt, another $50 in wiring and tune up parts, $75 for a 6v battery, about $1200 in respectable tires, $200 worth of sanding and painting supplies to get it the right color...so uhh by the time it"s "Collection ready" for real ya got what? $5275 in it and that"s if ya don"t have to do any further engine work! A REAl deal! LOL

lol his wife may be telling him to get rid of it, he knows at that price, for what it is, he will get to play with it for a long time to come, but after all, it is 'for sale'

Check out the prices on 9n's on tractor house. You'll see a bunch of them advertised in that price range. Doesn't mean they'll sell.
"Restored" means different things to different people. Some people think if they get something running, they've restored it.

I agree the tractor isn't really for sale, or maybe the seller really thinks it's worth that much. I have a friend that has a jubilee that swears he could sell it to a dealer for $5K. He did sell his 2n for $2600 which was about 50% more than they were bringing around here at the time.

Like the other day some one had on here about "Over Used Words".

Restored was one of them.
Show Ready
Parade Ready
Field Ready
Etc

I'm not sure if they're over used words as much as everyones' definition of words are different or they don't know the definition at all. May be what's called outlook on the subject...
Just my $0.02 worth.

There has been a CASE SC (rare), on there listed and relisted, for over a year priced at $4400.00. You would think the seller would get the idea by now that he is expecting too much.
Loren, the Acg.

On the local craigslist for about the last year was a 1949 john deere a for the paltry sum of $5000

he also was listing a cub cadet 70 for $1500 with no options on it

Loren, about 6 months ago I asked the seller what was rare about this sc. He replied "what's not rare"? I didn't bother to respond after that.

Watch your responses. I had a guy threaten to do me in because I asked him what exactly was rare about his tractor. Some of them may be doing dope. How else could they think the 9n was a nice restoration and worth $3500?

Geez,I turned down a nice restored SC with a foot clutch for $2500 a few years ago just because I'm not a Case collector. I don't know about rare, but I'd consider those hard to find.

Seems some people watch too many of the "junk for sale" shows on the History Channel though. Just try to get your money back if you pay those prices for some of this stuff in the real world.

Sometimes the "experts" asking the questions don't know what they're talking about, so they might get some interesting replies from the sellers.
A couple years ago I listed a couple tractor related signs in the photo ads. I got some responses to my ads by some self appointed experts that thought my prices were out of line. One of the guys is a regular poster on the N forum. Anyway, those guys might know their tractors but they were clueless about the value of the signs. They sold quickly for my asking price.

I see overpriced stuff advertised all the time. Can't say I've ever felt the need to contact the seller to tell him his prices are too high. Actually it's kind of funny that people get all worked up and harass or make fun of sellers when their stuff is priced too high, but rarely tell a seller when their prices are too low.
