Just bought an early Gehl 4400 skid steer. Got the old Wisconsin running reasonably well, now on to other things. Hydrostat creeps and the lever does not seem to have the proper range of travel. Someone had been into the console before me, so all adjustments are out of whack. Need to get it to center in neutral, then adjust tracking. Seems to me neutral is adjusted by sliding the T-bar base, but it was 19 years ago that I last worked on one.
Can anyone outline the procedure for me please? No dampers on this one, seems later models had this. All I see is a well worn friction pad set on either side of the T-bar, with what I think was a slot to detent into for neutral.
