11yrs exp on all loaders in all enviroments under all conditions for every type of industry from screening, excavating, grading, welders picker, pipe yard, dump n flat bed loading... to snow removing. Operators wish they had my swag.

If you want the guy who loads a truck in two minutes flat, signals turns, knows right of way procedures, knows how to use a mirror, checks blind spots, keeps a clean cab, greases his equipment and operates safely. email me. if not, good luck with the rest of them.... jkin, i learned from a few other good operators, they are out there... i aint that arrogant lol.
btw.... i am employed, out of town, at the moment. as all good operators should be. i would need to give notice. i preferably work out of town.

I saw this ad on Kijiji. There's a few pictures of someone sitting in a machine looking out the window. The guy has feet up in a couple of them. Does he really think anyone would respond to hire him for his "swag"? He can't spell for one thing. Makes you wonder if it's a joke.

The very best operators that I've ever worked around (33 years road const) were quiet people, could even be considered humble, who let their good work do the talking for them. They didn't look for work - it looked for them. This guy sounds like a pain in the BXXX to me.

My humble opinion

If they say they are fast it usually means they destroy equipment. What you want in an operator is finesse and the ability to read drawings so he knows what he's try to accomplish with the machine.

The only thing it really tells you is that someone knows how to post an add on kijiji...
The fact that he's looking for work, presumably in alberta... says a lot. I'm guessing it's a joke. Otherwise he's probably a crackhead.

I have a friend that would hire carpenters for his crew. And like you said those that brag about their skills were the most unskilled.

Something I've learned is the more a guy brags on how good he is at something, the less he can do it. I have a kid on my crew now that's the best at everything and can't do anything.

I noticed he didn't say he owned any of the equipment he mentioned. Probably just wants to learn at someone else s expense. I have worked with a few that would tell others that they were the company's best driver. I think that they have to keep convincing them self's of it.

I have found guy's that brag the most can't back it up. One young man came into our Dodge dealership with his box and stated "I can fix anything". The 30 year Chrysler tech smiled, walked away and told me at least he was smart enough to know he couldn't fix everything. The guy didn't make it 30 days.

Friend of mine in Midland, Tx told me this story a couple years ago.
He was short handed and way behind on well location construction. So he put a ad in the paper for a dozer operator.
Later that day, a long haired tattooed character shows up riding a chopped up Harley. Looked rough as a cob but polite. Told my friend he had lots of experience on a dozer and loader.
Being desparate for operators, my friend took the guy to the back of the yard and told him to get on a D-6 and show what he could do, get a blade full of dirt and drift it for a 100 yards or so.
First thing the guy does is check oil in the engine and other fluids, does a walk-around checking out the dozer. Then starts it and let it run for a minute or so.
Then takes off and puts the blade down and commences to push dirt, digging holes and making washboards like amateur. Backs up and starts a second pass. Better that time, but still leaving the dirt wavy and rough.
Backs up for a third pass. This time, smooth as glass, almost blue top quality.
The guy finishes, shuts off the dozer and walks over to my friend. He asked the guy "What's the deal? First two passes looked like krap. Last one is almost perfect."
The long haired guy looked him right in the eye and said "First pass is $15.00 a hour. Second pass was $20.00 an hour. Last pass was $25.00 an hour. Which one do you want?"
My friend hired him on the spot...for $25.00 an hour. That was 20something years ago. The guy still works there and still the best dozer hand my friend has.

sounds like he has quite a opinion of himself, he can do anything according to him, now.. it would be real interesting to find out who he's working for now, and see what there opinion of him is, and why he's wanting to leave, sounds like the guy that got hired on a crew i was on in the 80's, supposed to be a top hand, according to him, remember those old cat loaders that had the master switch behind the operators seat? this guy was hired as a loader operator , after 20 minutes he came over to me and asked me how to start the loader lol he sounds like this guy

Sounds like the kind of expert to stay away from. When I first started in the power business. I was paired up with an old and cranky man. He told me. Don't waist my time telling me what you can do. Show me.Told him I can push a broom and pay attetion and learn. After that we got along fine. He taught me a lot you will not find in any book.

Arrogance seems to be a desirable trait with the younger generation and management fools such as are depicted in the Dilbert comic strip. The last off farm job I had there was a coworker who's attitude just screamed he wanted to get his head shoved through a concrete wall. I think business leaders today confuse arrogance with intelligence. I hate to think what it will be like in another ten years with fools admiring UFC wrestling and so forth. This country is just about done for.

Hire him while you still can an he still knows everything. After all, he IS a legend........in his own mind....

I remember that, the switch behind the seat, guy I woked for had I think it was a 910?? With forks on it to move concrete forms around the job, gee I can't remember if that's the right model # or not, but i remember the switch behind the seat!!

Sounds like a good prospect to subcontract to Nemi Lumber inc. If he didn't work out,Lyle could hang a cage in a tree , put him in it, and use him fer griz bait.

I'm good for about $20-$21. My dad would be the $30 guy. He can run across a building pad with a 10,000 hour TD-8, wore out undercarriage, so much play in the controls the lever hits the console, and tell you where it's a half inch low.
