Rain washing away the blood stains

Yep we have a nice cold rain right now. Was on the Phone with a guy in AL when I saw a opossum on the patio so grabbed the 410 and gave it some lead. Nice to have to rain so I do not have to wash it off tomorrow. Yep I still wage war on the varmints

Yep right hand on phone left hand with the shotgun. Yes I am left handed so easy point blank shot to boot. May have been all of 5 foot which some times is to close so you miss

Or the fella in Fergus Falls, MN trying to keep out of jail for shooting someone that robbed him multiple times. He did execute the perps though. The only way the criminal knew about him was because he helped troubled kids at his place.

Matter of fact finally caught a couple of Armadillo's. Been bugging me for awhile. Get under the house at night, knocking things around waking you up, yard all torn up as we have a lot of long, fat, white earthworms here and they just love them.

Anyway, you shoot them with .410 bird shot or a .22 and they just run under the house and die. Then I have to crawl under there and get them out and I'm getting a little old for that.

So this time I got the 12 ga. out and found a box of old plastic #4 high brass. No brag, they are over 30 years old as I have been here about 35 years and I quit duck hunting when I moved here.

Test firing worked, and within a week got both of them. One shot and instant predator down. Yesssssss! Thought it would be a mom and pop shop and was worried about a nest under the house. But luckily they were both males and the largest I have ever seen. Threw them out in the field across the way and for once the buzzards were worth something.

Been a war on chipmunks around here.Used a 410 on them also. I guess I'm surprised you can kill a opossum with a 410 - those things are tough to kill.

Several years ago, we had a guy at work that shot a possum inside his house. The clothes dryer quit so after several months, he finally pitched it out in the yard. Never plugged the vent hole in the wall. The possum would cross the room from the couch to behind the TV about the same time each evening. One day, he sat in his recliner with his rifle. When he shot it, his wife came in to see what the idiot was up to now. He pointed to the dead possum and told her to pitch it out. This story is no joke. He told it at work and when we saw his wife later, she started out by saying "You will never guess what that idiot did now."

Dang it, Old

You shouldn"t ever have to have a lead on a possum. Just put the sights dead on him - they really aren"t that fast! Now, them groundhogs is a different story. They have more than just a first gear.

My dog treed a coon last night around ten. One shot with the .410. Dead coon. I always have to be on top of the coon situation around here. They will clean out a chicken coop in no time.

Way to go! I know how that works. I have squirrel issues and I'll grad the shotgun, kick open the door and blast away!!

Mice are never any problems the cats love them so no mouse problems here. Matter of fact the reason the Opossum was on the patio area was because it was eating cat food

Funny story: When my grandmother was on hospice care a few years ago, the nurse was coming first thing in the A.M. to check on her. One night my grandfather gets up to use the bathroom and notices a large coon on the porch eating cat food. Since he keeps a loaded 12 ga close by, I'll bet you can figure out what happens next.....
In the morning, the carnage from the previous night was still splattered on the side of the porch, and the cat food thief still lay just where pap had blown his head off.
Pap says he can still hear that nurse scream.

Guy I used to work with took some trash out one fine Christmas morning to find his trask can rumbling around. He returned to the house and got a .410, aimed and threw a stone at the can. As the head came over the top of the can, he squeezed off and shot the offending SKUNK! It came flying out of the can and sprayed ou a full volley before it died. John and his family then packed everything up and moved Christmas dinner to his mothers house.

Funny what 20 miles can do to weather. Nary a drop of rain up this way, just clouds all night. Bright sunshine today.

My brother came out while I was at work and skinned some beavers. He's been feeding the skinned out beavers, coons, whatever else to my poor ol' hound dog who looks like a tick ready to pop.
