Repurposed School Bus/Shipping Containers

One of my cabin fever topics/google reads. I love the open concept hardwood lined campers/studios people make from old buses. I also like the workshops on wheels I've seen made from buses. The shipping container shops and support walls for farm sheds are cool too. I'm not into redneck, but I'm all into beating the system.

Do any of you have any such repurposed buses or containers?

Be careful buying an old school bus Glenn. If it's a diesel it will cost you an arm and a leg to get it repaired. I worked on IH school buses for 10 years. Too many things on those engines to go wrong and it does.

This is as close as I can come up with, not exactly what you asked for,but what the heck!
Its not mine, belongs to a friend,he did drive it up to the top of the field in pa and we camped in it one night

I've always wanted to make a portable shop to take to the field out of a smaller school bus. Thought I would make it a gooseneck trailer so I could pull it with a pickup. One less vehicle to keep running. Build a work bench in it. With the windows, it would be light in the daytime. Would keep the tools out of the weather. Some of them have storage underneath, so that would work for a generator, etc. I thought there was a website that had schoolbuses that were converted to other things, but can't remember what it was.

I have two busses for storage. Sold one engine, using some of the tires on farm trucks, sold most of the seats. No shed taxes on them. Need a sense of humor to have them in the back yard.

They also work great for kids to play in!

I once saw a farmer strip out an old 60 passenger school bus, put a wall behind the driver's seat, and use it to haul hogs to market.

Said he couldn't begin to buy a regular truck or livestock trailer that would haul that many finished hogs for no more money than he had in that old bus.

We have two school busses here. The first one we took all the seats out and made it into my wood working shop. It has 20' of counter down one side with draws under and vac. system for all the machines. The other side is storage racks and shelves. Where the driver sat, is a tool large 15 draw tool box.
The other buss - My son cut the body down to only six seats pluss the driver. He then added a Ramp body to haul his race car. I have hauled a few tractors home with it too.

I had a 56 passenger with a full size tub and kitchen in it. It was my home away from home when I worked construction. I hooked the PU to a tow bar, and down the road I went.

Goose, we had a farrowing outfit in this area that hauled feeder pigs out to the weener units in a bus. The bus was warm and tight. They had to partition off the front of the bus to keep the windshield from fogging. Jim

In the south produce farms will buy old busses, cut them off at the bottom of the windows, and use them for hauling watermelons and such into their packing houses.

Not many school districts spent the extra to get the DT466.
Many have the T444E and olds ones had I think ?it was a 9 liter V8 diesel which was bad news.
