Cracked carb post..Photo

Awhile back I posted a photo along with a question about fixing a crack in the inlet of my carb.
It is fixed and running beautifully..
How I fixed it was... Sent it to Motec Engineering in Indiana. Put a whole new top on it,rebuilt it (while he had it, I thought why not) painted it and sent it back to me. Bolted it on and hit the starter, starts, idles, and runs fantastic. All for the price of a rebuild.
Thank you all for your responses

Cracked because a tapered pipe thread was screwed
in too far/tight. I don"t see evidence of teflon thread tape on the fitting...but teflon tape is
also a lubricant..to the extent that you loose
your sense of feel that fitting is getting tight,
and can very easily overtighten in castings.
