The original subject was "the most money you won on a lotto scratch off ticket".

I won $1000 on April 6 my birthday. It was a Georgia black scratch off. I played June 1st same year and won 1200 on the same card.

Back in October 2012 I won $100 on a scratch off down in Nashville Il. I knew when the cashier handed me the ticket that it was a winner. Last week I won $12 total on 3 different scratch offs.

I stay away from those. Coincidentally, recently somebody let their 20 dollar game fly out of their car and onto my yard because it was a loser. I can't imagine spending that much on the lottery in one shot. The state gets my self imposed poor tax when I buy two 1 dollar tickets per week or now an then I'll buy four 1 dollar tickets per week if the mood hits. How people spend 50 or 100 dollars a week on stuff like that is beyond me.

I used to work in a shop that had 10 people and two of them absolutely hated each other. For Christmas one year, one of them gave the other 9 guys in the shop a scratch-off lotto ticket and then said: "If you win anything, you've got to give half of it to me." Of course, the guy that he hated got a fake $10,000 winning lotto ticket. On the back of the fake lotto ticket, it said that the procedure for redeeming the ticket would be to contact Santa Claus at the North pole, but the guy had such poor eyesight that he couldn't read it. The "winner" to this lotto ticket acted like he hadn't won anything because he didn't want to share any of the winnings. The best part was that all of the other 9 guys in the shop knew that he had received a fake lotto ticket and we could just see how much greed the guy had. During break, we even heard him call his wife on the phone and bragged that they were going to have a wonderful Christmas that year and that he had such a good surprise when he got home. I'm pretty sure he got his rear end reamed when he got home.

I was in a food store one day a few years ago and found a dollar bill on the floor, went to the vending machine and bought a scratch-of, won two dollars! Well, you know how it is, can't leave well enough alone, so bought two more. The state of NC got it all back!

Several years ago for my 40th b-day party I received 10 scratch off lottery tickets. All total, I won 8 dollars. (the lottery scam system is for suckers)

Heck, around here all the big winners are people that don't need the money anyway! Obviously that is how they can afford to spend $50.00 to $100.00 a week or better. About a year ago a man in a nearby town won about half a million, he owned a hosiery mill! I have seen where several others won sizeable sums of money and they all had high paying jobs or were executives of some sort.

Destitute man prayed to be able to win the lottery.

Drawing that night and he didn't win.

Prayed again to win the lottery and for the second time he was not a winner.

Third time he prayed Please God, let me win the lottery.

Booming voice from above said "HELP ME OUT AND BUY A TICKET".

Dad had given my brother who can not hold onto any money at all three mares. Dad lives in Tennessee aroound four hours away my brother who does not have truck or stock trailer wanted me to take him and haul horeses back home with my truck 250 4X4 with V10 and trailer and he woild pay for gas. second time we stopped for gas we were still in tennessee. he went in to pay for gas and had 3 dollars still in his pocket so he bought tickets and won $500.00 then stood right there and gave it back to the store.

In high school me and a guy I worked with always bet on
The horses, one time on a $15.00 bet to win, the horse won and I made $125.00. When I went to work that night I told the vet I won on his horse at the big A, he laughed and said that's the only reason you like her! Lol

Haven't bought a ticket in years, but I use to buy an occasional ticket, never won more then $5.

I can remember when scratch offs first came out in Indiana. The state was timid and you could only buy them at a few locations.

Now they have the scratch off machines in every supermarket. With $1, $2, $5, $10, $20 scratch offs. The blinking red lights LOTTO LOTTO LOTTO.

Our society continues to go down hill, I just didn't think it would happen so sudden.

On the first day of the scratch offs being sold in Texas my ten year old son begged his mother to buy him a ticket at the local convenience store. They argued and finally she gave in to shut him up, telling him they were wasting a dollar. Won $35. Another argument started with my son wanting the money and my wife saying it was HER dollar. When they got home he went in his room and found a dollar and offered it to her for the winnings.

He's 31 years old now and still tries to do those deals.

I did get $475 one time. Didn't share it...

I know this is hard to believe, but it"s true. A neighbor about a half mile away won $1,000,000 (one MILLION) on a $10 scratch-off in Illinois about 10 years ago. His son and mine were in the same class and good friends. He netted a little over $600,000 after taxes.

i took my ticket to 7-11, ran thru machine, buzzer went off, clerk says won a million, asked him check again, same buzzer, one more time please, buzzer went off again, then i rolled over and turned off alarm and got ready for work,,,lol,,,truthfully, i was lucky, had a two tickets years ago, one was for fifty, one was for one hundred...

In 1992 I won a brand new Ford 4x4 extended cab on a $1 scratch ticket. The lottery included the taxes on it and gave me a check for $250 to boot, so it really was a one dollar truck. I still have it. Here'a picture of it the day after I won it.

I should add that over the last 20 years they've gotten most of their money back. It's been the slow easy payment plan though.

A few years back my #2 son was going to HS with a local not to bright kid who had just turned 18 and could play. I guess he went to school one day and was bragging that he had won 20 bucks. Turned out he spent about 50 to win 20.

Just for a lark I got 2 tickets in KY when they first started selling. Broke even. Then after I retired and was back in MN they sold some 2 buck tickets where the proceeds when to the WWII museum. I again got 2 tickets and made my money back so got too more and lost it all. Haven't payed for one sense. Got better things to do with my money! Besides I pay income taxes, I don't get everything back. Why pay more?

You can't win if you don't play, but...

There aint a whole lot of difference between 1 in 10,000,000 and 1000 in 10,000,000

So I keep it to one ticket every couple of months or so.

So far the state has come out the winner.

Funny thing a friend of mine doesn't understand - if you've already lost 1000 times, your odds on the next one are exactly the same as your first one.

Just like flipping a coin - you get "heads" ten times in a row - what does that tell you the next one's going to be?

Absolutely nothing - as much as you may think the odds are increased that it'll be tails - because it's "due" - it's still in fact the same 50/50 chance. The past doesn't have any bearing on it at all.

B.C. comic strip gave definitions on some days. My favorite one was -

LOTTERY - a game by which many fools make one among them look like a genius.

I don't play but a friend from work does and him and his wife won 32 mil. about 8-10 yrs ago. He quit playing after that claimed to have used all of his luck up that one time.
