Follow up to fencer light

In my post titled "calling all sparkies" a page or two back I have some info to add. I looked at the tester again and realized that it is a neon bulb, not a LED. That changes a bunch of stuff. The resistor has absolutely no makings on it. Appreciate all the help.

Just another idea for you,i hung a spark plug on the barb wire and wired top to hot wire.Can't see it too far off but can sure hear plug snapping.

I have a real old 6v fencer that has a spark gap behind a magnifier glass mounted in the fencer itself, can be seen from about 50 ft depending on light conditions
