IS THERE A LIST OF MANUFACTURES THAT USED 12 VOLT DELCO-REMY MODEL 1107703 [HAS A 2 BOLT FLANGE MOUNTING AND 10 TEETH GEAR----? MINE IS COCKSHUTT MODEL 550

Probebly get awnsers on the Oliver forum, they should know something on there. If you haven't already tried.

According to my lester program it was only used on cockshutt / white models 550,552,570. hth jstpa

Just have the old one rebuilt(Yellow Pages under starters and alternators, rebuilders.)

The "guts" (frame and armature) of many 12 volt Delco starters are the same. Differences are in nose cones, Bendix pinions, type/location of the power terminal and direction of rotation.

A good, old time starter shop may be able to mix and match Delco parts to assemble you a 1107703 equivalent.

Sounds like the same two bolt mount Deere uses on the Dubuque 300 series four and six cylinder engines.
The Online Delco parts catalogue list every combination of snouts, pinion gear tooth counts, pinion gear pitch, rotation direction, voltage and motor HP.
You could probably just order an off the shelf MT 38 and wail that engine over at rpms it"s never seen before.
eBay also has dozens of MT 28 and MT29 starters . Ok for gas but not really enough for a diesel.
