Just saw a add for a 1992 JD 4055 232 original hours 2wd, weights ect, all original, $100,000 ????wow.

Just for comparison,I bought a 4040 new in February 1981,had 3 hours on it when it rolled off the truck in my yard,I paid $22,900 cash,no trade.

I hope you still have it,? With less than 300 hrs on it, and original, it'd be worth alot! Lol,,Some of the prices for older deers in great shape are really high!

No,I traded it off ten years or so ago. Had close to 13,000 hours on it. Needed a major overhaul,the PTO wouldn't shut off,just worn out in general. They gave me $10,000 for it. I'd had my use out of it in the more than 20 years I had it,so I was glad to get that for it.

What would a new Deere that size cost? The 55's were great tractrs.

A new 6430 is around 115K, I just looked and a used 2012 6430 with a loader with 175hrs is 88k.

He's got some 4020 and 3020 SC diesels there for around 30,000 a piece. Had a 4455 for around 60,000 also. I wonder how many farmers buy at those prices? I have been trying to figure out where he gets his money from.

I know some of the tractors in the past, the ad said they were the original owners, WRF owned them since new I guess. I think collectors must buy them? I dunno. I won't be buying any of them! Lol
