How do you do it?

Im having difficulty getting the clutch assemble off the clutch shaft on my MM 705. I removed the locking washer and nut from the end of the shaft. I then made up a two leg puller to fit behind the clutch assemble and tried removing the clutch but it wont move, I guess it real tight. I think I might make up a four leg version unless you guys have any better ideas. The two leg version I made is just bending after applying quite a lot of pressure.

Don"t know, but it reminds me of pulling the drive coupling off my Farmall H. I pulled and worked for three 12-hour days, and finally got it off; there was what we call a Woodruff key, that fitted into a groove on the shaft and fitted into the coupling, that was slightly deformed enough that it would not NOT NOT!!! come out. Took day after day, but I finally pulled it off. Bad design, in my opinion. You might h ave similar design.

looks like there are tapped holes close to the shaft. Use some long bolts with a bar puller. Should work, may have to heat it up.

Use the two threaded holes near the center of the plate pull from here. Put some good pressure on it them stand to the side and give a few good raps with a brass hammer. This should do the trick.

Yes clutch is located with a Woodruff key as you say. There are no threaded holes near the centre of the clutch although from the pictures it looks as if there are. Keep coming with the ideas guys, any help appreciated.

The tech manual simply states to remove using a suitable puller. I would probably try a three jaw posi-lock puller or some similar arranged puller behind clutch assembly.

I've seen some applications where the holes needed to be tapped by the first mech. who had the good fortune of the first removal.
