Second picture defiately wagon axle ends, the nut on the end is either left or right-hand thread depending on which end of the axle it was on.

I also think the first one is off an old hay loader that put loose hay on a wagon.
Second two are almost certainly the ends off an old wood wagon axle.

What would that "shifting lever" be used for out of the wagon axle?
A brake of some sort maybe? Or a ground drive clutch?

Kornfused, I blew up your pictures on my laptop.
That long axle looks like it's from an old push rake. The wheel closest to the camera seems to have a guard laying on the wheel. The push rakes had these guards to keep the hay off the wheels. The other picture is of two wheel spindles where the wood axle has rotted away between them. The long rod pulled the spindles toward each other and kept them on the wood axle.

Those cast ends on that rotted axle (second pic) will make a dandy pair of heavy table lamps. A nicely finished round piece top and bottom, you can either shine up and paint the metal, or coat it as it is. Please DON'T throw them away. . .

First one is the axle fram a BULL rake Granddad called it. It has long wooden teeth with metal tips. They were used to bring loose hay to the stack.
