Burr mill, used for grinding feed. Not the same as a hammermill. Fineness of grind is adjusted by cranking the two long bolts in front of the bowl-shaped housing. Hopper is missing. IH used to have a moving bar inside the hopper to stir up the grain, especially ear corn....so it would feed into the machine. Grew up using one, shovel everything in, shovel everything away. I have a complete one now, IH, purchased on an auction.

cornfused, that is the business end of a burr grinder, looks to be mostly there except for the wedge shaped hopper. The middle pic of the drum shaped piece is the cover for the "burr", two pjates rubbing together, with a pattern to crush kernels. It is fed by the auger like piece that is below the pair of paddles which are made to mangle ear corn into small enough pieces to be crowded into the BURR A very good way to make whole grain more profitable for farm animals. fred

Looks like a relic that should be saved. After all, if a rock a lot smaller than it is worth $300 what's this worth?

I think the first picture is a Irish setter dog. LOL I just had too.

The machinery is a shredder or cutter. I am not sure what it would have been used on.

I was just going to say it was a dog, but that seemed too general and vague, somehow.

It is the remains of a 10 inch IHC feed grinder. The rolls just push the grain to the business end. Missing quite a bit. I have a nice one just like it.

Sorghum press? I am guessing wildly with this one.

If it was running one side would turn a lot faster than the other, so I would think it would have a sort of shredding action. It looks interesting.

Zach How do you figure that. The gearing to both is just double geared but reverse. I am thinking just reversed to add strength but I can not see either running faster than the other. Explain how you think one is turning faster than the other please.

There is also a third roll/screw in the bottom, it is the shaft with the drive pulley.
