Well,I read in the paper that Lake Huron is the lowest it has ever been since they began recording lake levels in 1918, Dry summer in 2011,very little snow last winter,dry again this summer and of course more cities drawing water from lakes,there is a concern that the freighters bringing salt out of the port of Goderich can't load fully because of the lower water depths

Shouldn't have had my feet under the computer desk. Now they're wet. LOL. The lakes around here in NWIA are pretty darned low. Haven't heard of any fish kills yet. Jim

Got so dry here in Central Missouri...I caught a catfish and had to wipe the dust off of it.
....I caught a 8 pound bass. Well, after I pulled the ticks off it, it was only 5 pounds.

The trick to the statement is, "since they began recording in 1918".
If you look at a map of Lake Huron, there is a ridge that crosses from Michigan to northern Ontario. It runs from Point Clark, Ontario to Presque Isle, Michigan. They have found artifacts of the native hunters,dating roughly 6000-9000 years ago.
Google Lake Huron land bridge, there is quite a bit of interesting information on it. I attached a link. There has been a show on National Geographic or History Channel too.
Funny none of the people want to talk about what the lake level really use to be.
