Wonderful, you can almost feel the jubilation just looking at the picture. Thanks to those folks for their service and to the families waiting at home also.

Glad he made it back alright. I also hope he is back for good. We have ZERO agenda now in Afghanistan or any where else. Hard to fight when you have no clear goals.

Congratulations.
I guess I'm getting soft in my old age. I see something like this and tears come to my eyes.
They look so young. We are mis-using the young of our nation in so many ways.

Jon,
I am with you on that (return). I have been in this situation twice with my son. Always a great feeling to have them back on US soil! Tears of joy! Tell him THANK YOU! Enjoy the time with him.

Not what the news was about the other day. Large reserves of Lithium in the eastern part of Afghanistan and we need more to make batteries! I'm not really a conspiricy theorist but sometimes you gotta wonder.

Thank him and his wife for their service to the country from Kansas. I pray that he will be able to resume his life and enjoy his family.

(quoted from post at 12:47:19 01/23/13) Yes till him thanks from a 65-66 Viet Nam Vet. Wished we would have had that king of a welcome home.

For sure. I was discharged in San Francisco in 1970. What a trip to the airport. Almost worse than Viet Nam,
