Naw, it aint all that cold now. Wait until morning when you start chores with that wind. It was bad enough this morning.
 
I was just out and dropped some bales in and checked the waterers. I've got 9 above right now with a wind that's about to take the bark off the trees. My blood's getting too thin to take much more of this.
 
My pond has lots of leaves fall in it and I have never had a problem. Where are you located?

You probably know my neff who runs the salvage yard there--tall skinny kid no fat on his bones---probably freezing him today. Those yards can get cold.
 
pond does not look this good in summer. unsure of leaves but watershed is from a horse pasture before it gets to my fields therefore a lot of nutrients enters which leads to algae growth. unusual thing this year, large flock of canadian geese stayed on it for a couple of weeks eating the remaining algae and grasses. when they left the lake is as it appears now. might add i lost my grass carp two years ago due to heat, i do plan on replacing them this year.
