A friend of mine in WV is cleaning out her grandad's farm buildings. I got this pic and not sure what it is? Was hoping someone may be able to identify it. I'm thinking some kind of press? I know its not a very good pic.

What ever it is, it is great to see things that haven't been pickover for years. Haven't seen a tool with a wood handle like the one, behind that thing. Never know what you will find in some old buildings. They are getting fewer as the years go by. Still looking for that barn find Indian motorcycle, covered with straw, and a few old feed sacks. I can picture it now. Stan

wow jim, you never cease to amaze me with your knowledge. i looked on ebay at looms and here is one pretty close. looks like his pic it is partially dis-assembled and standing side ways.

that old wooden handled tool (prolly a scoop shovel) behind it is about 110 yrs old or more. See it in a movie about the Molly McGuires, starring Sean Connerly. I still use my grandpas a lot.
