possible scam? help please

Had a guy call me about my craigslist ad about a bean head, said he could sell it to a local farmer all he needed was 250.00 bucks. Company name is NMSELL and there website is NMSELL.com Anybody ever had these guys call you asking to sell your piece of equipment? real deal or just a bunch of scammers? sounds like a joke to me.

i would NEVER give anybody that replys to a craigslist ad any money 99% of them are scams... i went to that site and something looks fishy to me me... i would RUN away from it

There's companies that do that, but i would tell him to sell it at the asking price, then i would give him his 250 bucks.

When you Goggle it they come up as a legit company that sells stuff for people. They follow the ads and try to help people sell stuff. There are many ways to check people out and Goggle is so very simple to use. takes the guess work out of stuff and who knows, may even help with sales. The Buyer /Seller site on here is just one persons experience and I would never take it as Gospel.

if someone says they could sell it for me, i would tell them to buy it and sell it, they could make their own profit, not on your dime and time.. depending on when you posted, see how many responces you get, before jumping into maybe a scam.. do some home work about these responders, to see if legit or scammers..

I hate when they call to sell you their ads. Tell them to put you on their "DO NOT CALL LIST" and then file a report if they call again.

I would not pay them a dime.

I recently had one tell me his business was in a small town so I checked him out. None of my friends in that town had ever heard of him or his business and he could not give me any address of his business. On his second call he was mad that I checked him out! I told him to put me on the do not call list. He hung up on me, just like the first call. The third time he called me I was not so polite and filed a complaint.

My recent High Plains Journal ad had two calls from buyers and three from ad sellers!

I'd stay away from them.

Any time a deal like that costs YOU money up front - it's pretty fishy.

If they were legitimate, they'd take a commission for selling it, after the fact.

You'll get several calls like that.

While they are likely a real deal, what incentive do they have to so anything?

You've got the thing listed on a place that can be searched nationally, and many of us do when we are looking for something.

They will take your money, and so what do they do that you haven't already????

Now, of the offered to work on commission, then they have a stake in getting it sold.

But as a straight fee as they always offer......

Well, they might be kind of for real, but they are basically taking your money and sorta scamming you.

I would offer to sell it to them for your price and they can make some money if they feel they can sell it for more, or tell them not to ever call again. No way would I ever send them any money.

My Father-In-Law has always been kind of a sucker. He got a call on his chisel plow ad in the local buyNsell paper. They told him he was asking too little for the chisel plow and they could get $750 more than his asking price if he'd only pay them $250 to sell it for him.

I'll bet you can guess what happened next...

He got a $250 education. And he still gripes about it to this day.
