....kinda reminded me of Walmart on Black Friday. Sales appeared to be brisk. I had to park six blocks away.

I am sorry but I just do not understand all this. I think that anyone that thinks that they need all those guns, surely do not have enough tractors.

Don't sweat it Animal, there are obviously quite a few don't get it.
No such thing as too many tractors or too many guns!

They have mental issues... I agree..

Went to our local show today too, and have actually been to most of the shows within an hour or so of us over the past few months. If nothing else it's a chance to be around and socialize with others who share a common interest, see what's new, see alot of great old stuff, and look for the next 'got to have' at an affordable price. Hey, it never pays to jump the gun (pun intended) and buy without shoping around. That said, as far as the firearms themselves, it's not a matter of Needing them as it is wanting, and enjoying them. It's no different than any of the guys, or gals, on here collecting tractors. Just because they don't need them doesn't mean they don't want them and enjoy them. Personally wether the 'black helicopters' ever show up or not I enjoy target shooting, and when time permits hunting, although it hasn't permitted in too many years. I will say though, if the helicopters ever do show up, I'm well prepared to do my part to protect our freedoms as our Founding Fathers intended when they wrote the Second Amendment. That aside, My wife and daughter aren't into hunting (YET), but they both enjoy target shooting. In fact my 10 year old daugher got a single shot .22 rifle /.410 shotgun (interchangable barrels) as her first gun right before Christmas. It was her choice for her one big gift this year. As far as the target shooting though, after a week working the phones at a bank, listening to irate customers cuss and fuss at her all day, my wife says it's relaxing to come home and take her pistols down in the bottom and go though a few rounds of .22, .380, and/or 38 special. Not to mention we use the spatter targets that turn colors and she, "likes the pretty colors" they make when she hits them...hey, even I've got to admit the random colors, and color shapes, on the black background do look pretty cool...Plus she's also a really good shot and enjoys having one more practical skill that she is really good at...and something she can do better than me....Yep, got to admit, I'm better with the rifle, but she is a much better shot with the pistol, along with also being able to shoot with both eyes open, something I've never been able to train myself to do.

So, it's not a matter of Need for my family at least, it's just that shooting is something we all enjoy doing together, and the more choices you have to use, the more fun it can be.

One of the local Fire Departments is having their annaual Gun Show today (been havin' one for years), some local idiots talking about protesting it. I'm not going because A)I'm workin' now, get off at 7:15AM and wanna sleep before the Playoffs start B)There no such thing as a deal at a gun show anymore: last time I went guys were selling Ruger 10/22s for about $25 more than Dicks Sporting Goods, which is about $50 more than Wally World, and C)I am so sick of anti gun knob heads I's prolly end up in jail for assault when the protesters showed!
But it sure would be interesting to go n see what kinda of interaction goes on between the protesters and the attendees! LOL

Thats nice Dale. I'm quite sure that if we knew just a little more about you we could find many things that you enjoy, have never done wrong with and that you have no "need" for. Just because you aren't a gun type of guy is no reason to resort to insults.

One coming up at Sioux Falls SD on Feb 9 & 10. It is always crowded, I can't iumagine what it will be like this year. See ya there. Old Popper

There is a Big Anual gun show going on in the Saratoga Civic Center this weekend. Been lots of chatter on the local news about it. The protestors wanted it cancled. Others wanted it moved, as the Civic Ctr. is a municipal enity. The news said this morning that there was a record turnout Sat. and lots of protestors outside. No one was shot on Sat. LOL

Guns and ammo are selling quick here in Houston. Inventory is as low as I've ever seen it.

Old posted about not being able to buy .22lr. I went to go look and sure enough none on the shelves. I know the guys and apparently there is a run on all ammo. Only thing on the shelves was a few boxes of the odd ball calibers.

I can understand the "assault" rifles selling out but don't get the common stuff. I guess people think they are going to ban all of them.

Personally I don't see any of it happening. We have so many other issues, unemployment, immigration, spending, taxes etc. Even the talking heads say it's a non starter.

The wife talked to my sister in law a week ago. Said her husband went to a show in Lexington. She thought he'd be gone at least two hours. Said he was back in 20 minutes. Said they were all sold out of everything.

One thing good about all the anti-gun hype- It's putting millions of guns in the hands of law abiding citizens. Nothing like the fear of loosing something to make sales go through the roof. Me thinks it's kinda "backfiring" on the anti-gun nuts.
