Favorite snack

I'm snacking on a couple of deer sticks this evening, I helped my uncle drag out his deer and get it field dressed and am reaping the rewards. I believe that jerky is about my favorite snack. How bout the rest of you?

Dried fruit.
Especially apricots and peaches. But apples, pears, prunes, raisens and others too.
Easy does it though. No on will want to be around you if you have more than a couple.
I just finished a few dried apricots - Turkish style. I like the California ones better but they're so expensive now.

My favorite snack is baked beans with onions.
It's a way of killing two birds with one stone.
It satisfies my hunger and also makes a wicked tear gas.

Anything sweet.......tonight I may pour some mincemeat pie filling in a crust and make some whipped cream to top a slice...

On a more serious note.

Marilyn makes some gluten-free cookies that are so
hard to resist. If I'm traveling and need something
to fill the gap Chex Mix does the trick and it
sits with my stomach OK. I can go quite a few miles
without eating if I have some Chex mix to chew on,
especially the cheddar version. Downside is it
makes my gums sore. Jim

Jerky, beef sticks, deer sticks, etc. Any thing by Little Debbie or Hostess. Moon Pies, M&Ms, and chocolate. I could go on and on.

I like to eat, whether its snacks or dinner.

almost anything that says "Hershey's" on the wrapper... popcorn, often in a glass of milk (family traditon)... still-warm chocolate chip cookies, made using Grandma's recipie.

Time was it was an RC Cola and a Moon Pie, I still love them but nowadays I just have a few saltines and some good cheddar cheese or maybe look in the fridge and find some green beans or cooked carrots. Can't eat them raw anymore, not enuff teefs.

blue bell natural bean vanilla ice cream with
vanilla cream sandwich cookies. just had some.
had hamburger with onion for supper so the cream
settles the stomach.

Take a double decker moonpie, put it on a saucer, microwave it for a few seconds. Good golly thats good.

I can't say for sure as I've never had an absolute favorite, but do get spells when I want this or that. Lately it's been Krispy Kreme chocolate covered, cream filled doughnuts, and Ginger Snap cookies. Then there are times I like the Grandma's peanut butter cookies off the shelf, or my wifes fresh out of the oven. In years past I would often pig out on Reeses, but not I try to avoid eating quite so much chocolate as I used to.

when i was young, twinkies or devil dogs dipped in milk. Progressed onto Drakes coffee cakes dunked in coffee. Vanilla ice cream beaten with the spoon till it was smooth and creamy
Now that im lactose free, going on 22 yrs, its whole almonds, pumpernickel pretezels or oatmeal cookies.
The cookies in the pic are my present fav snack. Great in coffee, good on thier own.
Inexpensive at BJ's, $3 for a 2lb box.

I am guessing you are being facetious because I don't think grits are available above the Virginia line. But interesting that you should mention. Yesterday at the grocery I saw that Jeff Foxworthy has put out a line of Chips made from Grits, seriously. I would have bought a bag but they were $3.49 a bag and I was not quite that curious.
I need to apologize for calling the color of your bulldozer magenta. I realized recently that it is the screen on my laptop as anything red appears that way.

I like the Cape Cod chips. The originals not the multi flavor ones. They are thicker than the others with just the right amount of salt.

RBnSC,

You can get grits in the north - I buy them in MN. We like them cooked up with a small pat of butter melted on top and some salt and pepper. Of course a couple slices of bacon and an over-easy egg on the side. Not sure if that is the way southerners eat them - but they are good that way. Would be good with some garlic in them too...like we do with hominy (another dish we like). We also like okra too... just had the thought that we may have been born in the wrong climate. LOL

Sweet,
That is the way. Yellow is more flavorful than white. We like to cook them at least an hour but you need to add more water. Some restaurants add cream which is good but it makes it hard to clean the pot. Another thing I like to do is if we have mash potatoes the night before just add water to the pot and cook the grits with the left over potatoes. makes them real smooth and I didn't have to clean the pot. What is Hominy.
I like Okra OK. Messed with It all My life Dad always had a big patch of it and it makes me itch.

Did you hear John Phipps on the farm show yesterday morning say he grew up in a home where they didn't have snacks? He said if you asked for a snack he was given a raw potato.

love peanut butter, eat it almost every day. one strange combo i like is p-nut butter sandwich on crackers p-nut butter on one, miracle whip on the other
