Engine ID/Application

Guys. I have 3 engines here in the yard that I want to know what tractors they go to. Is there a website that I can go to where I can look up the serial number/casting number of the engine to identify the application? The 3 engines I have are: (JD) type, 629DH01, ser# 2305882, (IH) casting# 367727R2, and (IH) casting# 923S675500C2.

Thanks Guys

On JD's engine serial number plate the first numbers normally indicate size of engine. JD didn't make a 629 cid but they did make a 619 cid or 329 cid engine

Jim, the JD type number breaks down to (629DH01) 6= number of cylinders, 29= liters(2.9 liter), D= Diesel, H= Turbo, and 01= teir 1 EPA standards. I got this from the JD website, but they don't show the application.

A 2.9L(172 CID) 6 cylinder engine would sure have small pistons. I found some JD 2.9L engines but they were 3 cylinders.
.......and a 629ci or 619ci would sure have some large pistons!
