THE P.T.O ON MY 51 SUPER C WILL NOT DIS-ENGAGE.THE LEVER MOVES BACK AND FORTH AND I HERE WHAT SOUNDS LIKE IT CLICKING ,BUT THE P.T.O. WON'T STOP TURNING.IS IT COMPLICATED TRYING TO REPAIR IT.

Lift the rear about 18 inches, or lower the front to prevent loss of lube, and remove the unit. There is a mechanical coupling that is either broken, or the shifting fork that moves it is worn, bent, or broken. Jim

The sleeve that moves back and forth has a grouved flange on it and the lever has a small tip that enguages that flange to move it back and forth. It probably is worn off. You will need to remove the assy to find the problem. Ive fixed several. Some fun will occur reinstalling. You will also need to back off the slotted screw as it loads the lever in position. After reinstalling the assy you will need to tighten that spring again to load the levers action.
