Going to have to split tractor for transmission repair. Anyone have a rough estimate for the charge of just the split?

If you are lucky a transmission repair can be accomplished with a center split. But often it will require a double split. Others will probably debate this but a front split should be about three hours in and out. Double about five in and out, assuming no cab, and a mechanic with some familiarity with the tractor.

Redbelly Ford or M farmall maybe yes but get on some of this more modern stuff with hydraulic steering and all kind of electrical wires and a day is more like it.
