4.0 straight 6 that ate a piston. Jeep sure did make it fun to remove the radiator didnt they?!!! now that ive got all that removed, i can now pull the engine out. the broken piston, cracked the cyl wall in number 4, ive got a farmall M sleeve with the 3.875 bore to TRY to use as a repair sleeve and use a .030 over piston set.

There are a lot of those 4.0 engines around. A good block, and even a good running engine ought to be pretty easy to find.

yep, found one for under 500. seen farmall blocks split like this before n was an easy fix. if shes ok, ill totally overhaul it n know what i have vs taking the risk at this time. trust me, i was on my way over to pick up the junkyard motor, but, changed my mind halfway there. for 600 or less it could be all brand new under the hood n run it for 300k! lol
