O/T I have a plug for the snowplow on my truck for the plow lights. This plug has been a problem for a few years, it loses contact I pull the whole grill out of the truck clean it get it working and one or two weeks later it quits. What is the best way to fix without cutting plug out as I may switch plow to new truck next year. Snowplow is about six years old, little square pins in cheap plugs. Thanks

I wired my own, actually built plow mount, when I installed plow on truck. Anyway, I used a 6 conductor trailer light connector/plug. Taped it up good when I decided to leave mount on truck permantly, rather than taking it off every spring.... Have had no problems with connector. Noe the cheap connections - bulb sockets, within those rather expensive light fixtures, that"s another matter.

Like Ray said, I would wire in a standard 7 blade (flat or round) trailer connector, JMHO. If you want to match up your original connector, try Weavers distributing, They are generally at the York Pa farm show, with a display. They also have a catalog, may be on line now.

I would first clean both ends well and then inspect for corrosion or other damage and replace any damaged connector. Then use a contact cleaner spray to be sure you got everything clean. Last I would use some dielectric grease in your connectors , and make sure they are locking together tight. You could be getting moisture in the plug that then freezes and pushes things apart a little.
