Chevy farm truck question

1995 S-10, 4.3 Vortec, neighbor driving down the road and it slows down and quits, try to restart and it's locked up, won't turn over. Crankcase full of gas, pulled the plugs and full of gas. Unpluged fuel pump, changed oil spun over, gas out of cyls. Plugged ign. back in and it started up and ran good on the residule fuel for a few seconds, sounds like it will be ok, plugged fuel pump back in and it started and flooded out in about 30 seconds, same thing won't turn over, gas in cyl. Where do I start looking?? Fuel pressure regulator?? o-ring or seal out someplace?? Pushing way too much fuel through someplace, thanks for any advice, I know there's good chevy Techs. on here.

The crab style injection system in those early Vortex systems only lasted 100,00 miles then need to be replaced. There is 3 pieces to the kit and it is common for them to be replaced around 100,000 miles. They made good horsepower but you can figure on replacing the system every 100,000 miles. I've got a 95 high output 4.3 with 275,000 miles and just had the tranny gone through but the engine still goes 5,000 miles between oil changes with no adding oil between. Probably one of the best vehicles I have owned.

If its what I think it is the plastic fuel line inside and under the intake has a hole in it. It has a pressure line and a return line that tend to rub togeather. It has the old spider injection set up in it. With a hole in the line it will fill the crank case with gas and bearly run. My son has a 94 that did the same thing. It not to bad to fix, About $20 for the hose set and $15 for gaskets. The biggest pain is the bolt on the back of the block (1 1/2" from the fire wall)that holds the lines in place. You can look it up and you can see how its put togeather. Bandit

Don"t know if it helps, but I had the same symptoms on a 92 Ford 4.0L and it was a ruptured diaphragm in the fuel pressure regulator.
Good luck.
