Finally had a big snow here in Southern Il. Had about 11 inches and plenty of wind last night and this morning. Got up to go to the coffee shop, took the Dodge Diesel. Right off slid off in the ditch! just gassed it till I came to a culvert, Limbs on the cedar trees were trying to break my mirrow off. Came to another T couldn"t make it around it either! It is a 4X4. Somehow made it back home. Drove in the shop and put the chains on. Decided to try to make it to the shed where the little front wheel assist John Deere is. When I got there decided I would put the chains from the Dodge on the Front. Un hooked the chains from the Dodge and it wouldn"t move off of them. Finally spun down and spit them out. Got them on JD. Started back home to plow neighbors driveway and mine. Drift"s are over 3 ft in places. While I am going home on the tractor, a friend calls and says he is in the ditch about 7 or 8 miles east. Another friend had tried to get to him in a truck. (he was shutting oil wells down) This is bottom ground(flat) road is below fields in a few places. Just South of I 64. Made it to him, got him out. Went back West to I 64 interchange. Looked like a parking lot. Tamdem State truck stuck also. Just drove around him and he straightned his blade and I pushed him back where he had already plowed. Another coffee shop buddy had his JD loader and blade there. All 4 entrance and exit ramps were pluged with cars and trucks. When ever you go to buy another Vehicle, think about where you would hook onto it to pull it. Believe it or not we ran a chain through a front wheel and left it in park and slid it back onto the road. 2:00 by now started home no body could get out of their driveway. County had plowed by now left a 3 ft. mound in front of everybody"s house(can"t help it) 14 or 15 driveways later I am home warm and cosy just before dark. Lo-fuel light was on. Actually everything worked out fine! Just glad God gave me the health to do it. God bless you and yours this Christmas season. Vic |

| Got about 4" here in SCMI, but about done now. Roads really bad, took the kids 5 hours to get back to Harper Woods, which is normally 2-1/4 hour drive. |
