Its a mechanical joint- why would doing exercises give more range of motion? Being a mechanical contraption, it should have a built-in range of motion, and I don't understand why doing exercises should affect it, one way or the other. [Reply]  [No Email]

It was the muscle that I lacked. MO8N4ME, yes I have heard of the rooster comb injection. It has been replaced by others such as Euflexia (sp?). I have had that in both knees and it is very effective at holding arthritis at bay so that the pain is gone for 4-6 months. Someone on this forum had it work for him for years. [Reply]  [No Email]

I was up to 130 degrees just two weeks after. Really breezing right along. Then suddenly I had a lot of pain in the joint and spasming of a thigh muscle, The joint wasn't stable because the muscles weren't built back up yet. Favoring that side for the three months prior to the surgery had caused some muscles to atrophy, so that the joint wasn't stable. So I had to slow back down for a week and build my muscles back up. They have to stretch them out of the way to get to the bones to cut off and hammer in the new knee seat and ball. Muscles hate being disturbed. When disturbed or injured they always heal shorter. It isn't so much for strength as it is range of motion and stretching. If ya don't do it ya won't walk correctly and Doc won't be happy ya screwed up his work. [Reply]  [No Email]
