Put a new clutch in it at 4700 hrs. The clutch was 1400 + bearings, etc. This 6030 has a 5030 rear end(shuttle shift). It has never had any problems, always started when we needed it to. The 5030 will have a 6 cylinder engine rated at 2600rpm vs the 3 cylinder rated at 2400rpm in the 6030. Admittedly not a great field tractor, but no tractor in that hp range made in the last 20 years is. An ALO loader is preferable to a Kubota built one, and a later model tractor is obviously preferable, with the biggest difference being the seat and front rims. They are a VERY nimble tractor. Can get into some very small spots even with the loader on it. Not sure on the M5030, but with the 620 loader with a bucket on a M6030 with 24" tires, you can peel your front tires off, so if you get that tractor, be aware of that. Also know a guy that has a M8030. That thing has been to hell and back. He's replaced all of his tractors several times except the Kubota, which has been around 15+ years and still used daily. They're a very well built tractor that will outlast just about anything. [Reply]  [No Email]
steve706 12-26-2012 12:39:02 216.208.94.185 Report to Moderator	Re: Kubota M3050 in reply to Pipestem, 12-26-2012 06:11:25   I use one at work everyday for loader work and it has over 5000 hours on it and it works pretty good and hasn't caused us any problems.The little new holland we use with less than 2000 hours had the left rear axle snap due to metal fatigue.My money is on the kubota if it's taken care of. Like everything you can tear them up but all and all they did pretty well. They are a straddle mount tractor and the market kind went to flat deck type tractors so sales are somewhat weaker than a flat deck tractor but if price is right you won,t be sorry. No parts problems if you have any kind of dealer at all because there were a lot of that model sold. [Reply]  [No Email]

There was an M5030 manufactured between 1986 and 1996. Nebraska Test #1595 showed 49.77 PTO HP burning 3.029 gal per hr or 16.43 Hp/Hr/Gal. 41.10 Drawbar Horse Power @2.99gph or 13.72 hp/hr/gal. They are not the second coming like many claim. They are good but other brands and makes are just as good. The decision would depend largely on what type of dealer support you have in your area. I mean more than one dealer too. If you only have one close than think about how it would be if he closed and you had to drive long distances for parts/service. That fact still makes it hard to beat the main equipment lines. If you have dealer support and the price is right then go for it. They do not have any big problem tractors out there that I have heard off. [Reply]  [No Email]

We have a local dealer that is worthless. He parks a brand new Kubota out front and then tries to switch guys into his lesser brands like TYM and Century. He can make more money on the other brands. HE stocks a bare minimum of parts. I do mean a bare minimum. Close friend has a M110. He has had some minor stuff go wrong but nothing major. We where servicing the tractor last summer in my shop. He went to get all the filters for the tractor. The local dealer did not have either the oil filter nor the hydraulic filter. My friend wanted OEM stuff so he had to drive 60 miles one way to the next dealer to get the needed filters. He had a M8950 before the M110. At 6500 hours the pressure plate flew apart. It tore up the throw out fork and cross shaft. It was a loader tractor so that was not the issue. The fact that we had to wait six weeks for Kubota to get the parts here was an issue. So like I said they are just another brand that has its own issues and dealers that are less than desirable. Just like the other brands have these issues too. [Reply]  [No Email]

You make it sound like they are some one off brand of tractor when in fact they are one of the most popular tractors in the world. I'm sure there are stories of bad JD dealers as well.
